The West Midlands Combined Authority has launched its Strategic Economic Plan (SEP), which sets out how the region will use new devolved powers to create 500,000 jobs, increase life expectancy, build 1.9million new homes and upskill the region’s workforce. Chair of the WMCA Board, Cllr Bob Sleigh said the SEP “is the blueprint for a region reborn”. Transport for the West Midlands (TfWM), the transport arm of the WMCA has also set out the region’s transport priorities, which include transport links to connect to HS2 when it opens in 2026.
