Give North a voice in Brexit talks leaders tell new PM

Category: The North

Leaders of the North’s combined authorities have written a joint letter to the new Prime Minister, Theresa May urging her to make sure that “the voice of the North of England is heard loud and clear during the Brexit negotiations”. In the letter, the northern leaders point out to Theresa May that the North has both a bigger economy (worth £300 billion) and a bigger population (15 million) than Scotland and Wales, and should therefore be “integral” to Brexit discussions.
