Liverpool “must not follow in the footsteps of Greater Manchester”

Labour Mayoral Candidate hopeful Luciana Berger MP has rejected the idea of health devolution for the region. In a piece for the Huffington Post, she says: “I want no part of a process that takes the [National] our of NHS and dismantles one of our proudest institutions.” As Liverpool’s devo Mayor she says she will instead chair a Health and Wellbeing Board to “pursue integration and joint working” across health and social care services, which will not come “at the expense” of the “universal” nature of the NHS.
