Conservative candidate rumours start

Following Labour’s selection, Conservative sources have suggested that head of John Lewis, Andy Street is “poised” to be selected as the party’s candidate for the West Midlands mayoral election. The selection is due to take place before the Conservative Party conference in October. Speaking to the Times, a spokesperson for John Lewis did not deny that Andy Street would be running for the nomination, but commented that his current role “remains his focus”.
